Martlets choir sings with Daniel O’Donnell
The Martlets hospice Good Vibrations choir shared the stage with Irish singing star Daniel O’Donnell on Sunday evening at the Brighton Centre.
The former Strictly contestant was celebrating the final date of his Back Home Again Tour and contacted the hospice to ask the Good Vibrations choir to perform Christmas carols with him in front of 1,800 fans.
The forty-five members of the choir include hospice patients, family members, staff and volunteers who sing under the musical direction of local singer and voice coach Aneesa Chaudhry.  Everyone has a personal connection to the hospice and many find group singing to be a positive experience; allowing them to make new friends and gain support whilst raising valuable funds for Martlets.
Ann Borg, the choir’s co-ordinator said, “Daniel is such a huge international star, so we were really honoured to be asked to sing with him, especially on the show that closes his tour.  It was a big night for him.
“As well as generously allowing us the stage, he arranged for a collection to be made and also gave us a kind donation of £600.

“It was a bit nerve wracking to perform in front of so many people, Daniel’s incredibly popular so the Brighton Centre was full!  However, it was an amazing experience and one we shall always remember.”
The choir is always looking for new members, for further information please contact Ann by email at
