If you are aged between 14-19 years and are looking for information, advice and guidance about preparing yourself for the workplace – you should visit BEACH – Brighton Employability Advice and Careers Hut – for young people, by young people.

Did you know… From September 2013, all young people in England now require to stay in learning until the end of the academic year in which they turn 17 and from September 2015 until their 18th birthday. This law change is called Raising of the Participation Age.

If you are aged 16-24 years then earning whilst you are learning could be a great opportunity – to find out more you will need to read the information in our Apprenticeships section.

Whatever your age – if you are not in employment, education or training – you may be registered as unemployed and actively seeking work. If this is the case you could be receiving Job Seekers Allowance from the Job Centre, so next time you see your Adviser speak with them about Work Experience and Work Trials.
