Varian Medical Systems UK is Varian's home of precise patient positioning systems and European manufacturing headquarters. Located in Crawley, the UK operation is a diverse business hub employing 230 people working within multiple corporate and business unit support functions. THIS IS A PART-TIME POSITION WORKING 18.5 HOURS PER WEEK AS PART OF A JOB SHARE ARRANGEMENT. THE HOURS ARE 12.00 TO 16.00 MONDAY TO THURSDAY AND 08.00 TO 13.00 ON ALTERNATE FRIDAYS. Successful candidates will be extremely well presented, friendly and reliable, who are able to deliver a first class front of house reception service to both internal and external customers. You will be expected to welcome all visitors and ensure they complete the visitors log, issuing a visitors badge and notifying the appropriate person of their visitor's arrival. You will be responsible for fielding all incoming telephone calls, taking messages as appropriate. In addition you will have a number of administrative responsibilities including sorting mail, maintaining various records and providing general administrative support as required. Requirements Personable, friendly and well presented Excellent communication skills both face to face and on the telephone Educated to GCSE standard Previous experience with switchboard Competent with MS Office software, including Word, Excel and Outlook Flexible approach and able to act on initiative Well organised and reliable
