A major engineering and service organisation have created opportunity for a procurement professional in the capacity of Assistant Category Manager. Joining the procurement division of a major corporate technical engineering organisation this Assistant Procurement Category Manager role will be suitable for a graduate calibre professionals with early career procurement & supplier management experience at buyer / senior buyer or related levels (ideally across engineering or technical spend categories). The business seek a developing a professional who has dedicated career path focus with the aspiration to develop to full procurement category manager / specialist level which they will fully support and fast track with promotion opportunity The role will be assigned to the engineering spend category management team which manage large scale and multi million £ annual spend and will be given full training and support from senior category managers to develop a key role in the full procurement process (commercial cost and contractual negotiation, performance management, SRM, new supplier sourcing & engagement, category strategy development) and expertise in across the varying categories. This senior buyer / assistant category manager role will require a dynamic and commercially astute professional and will provide a fast track development plan for this role to progress to full procurement category manager level offering a fantastic long term career development opportunity. Salary - £30,000-£35,000 Location - Worthing, West Sussex Key skills, education and experience required for Assistant Procurement category manager application: - Degree level qualified - Experience in a procurement capacity (ideally Buyer / senior buyer or equivalent) ideally across engineering / technical categories - Excellent commercial acumen able to analyse data and utilise this to leverage commercial advantage within the procurement process - First class interpersonal skills able to work direct alongside and present to a diverse range of internal stakeholders and negotiate, manage service delivery and relationships with external suppliers at senior levels - Understanding of the end to end procurement, category management and supplier / supply chain relationship management process - Ability to develop strong commercial contractual negotiation skill sets - Proactive, enthusiastic and adaptive attitude and approach to embracing an opportunity to develop a full and specialised procurement management career To apply for this buyer / senior buyer / assistant category manager procurement position, candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
