WORKSHOP INSTRUCTOR/TECHNICIAN - PLUMBING
37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year. Actual pro rata salary from £17,845 to £19,999 p.a. Fixed term contract for one year initially. We are seeking an enthusiastic, qualified person to join our Construction Department. This role involves preparing workshops for practical activities ready for learners and tutors, an element of teaching groups of learners in workshop practical session only, working with tutors and colleagues to ensure safety in workshops for all and organising equipment maintenance activities to be scheduled and completed within a set time frame. The ideal applicant will have an appropriate work-based qualification e.g. Level 3 NVQ in Plumbing Level 3 as well as a good understanding of the technical knowledge which underpins the practice. They will also need to have strong experience of work on plumbing and heating systems, in a commercial setting and preferably some experience of training in the workplace or working with young people in a different context. Good communication and organisational skills and the ability to engage and motivate learners to succeed are a must. This post is subject to a DBS check.
