Procurement Manager Construction Permanent Gatwick Airport Role Overview: Procurement Manager Construction My client has a rarely available opportunity for a number of Procurement Managers in Construction to join them on a permanent basis This is a really exciting time to join the team as they experience expansion and departmental growth. As part of an ongoing organisational growth of the procurement department, Gatwick is searching for a number of Procurement Managers with construction experience to lead the procurement efforts for the Commercial, Terminals, Airfield and Asset Replacement programs. These programs will be a critical part of the annual c£250m Capital Investment Programme (CIP). In addition to centralising procurement Gatwick is also implementing new frameworks with responsibility for management of core elements sitting with procurement. Deliverables: Procurement Manager Construction As Procurement Manager you will be responsible for providing procurement support and guidance to the project delivery teams. You will drive value through being a key commercial advisor and upskilling the wider business. As Procurement Manager you will have some supplier management responsibilities and will ensure that the suppliers within your remit are effectively managed to ensure performance, value, behaviours and workload are taken into consideration when considering the procurement approach. The Procurement team provide functional support and expertise to the capital programme whilst the point of delivery typically, but not exclusively, sits within the project delivery team. In your role you will be required to implement and drive Procurement activities at all levels within the project delivery team organisation. Principal accountabilities: Procurement Manager Construction Managing the relationship with internal procurement stakeholders working with the business through an integrated approach and being a trusted commercial advisor.Leading the commercial and contractual interaction with external suppliers.Deliver the construction category strategy including sourcing activities which generate benefits and achieve stretching financial savings targets in accordance with GAL's Benefits Methodology.Continuously improving the P2P "buying experience" of the GAL buying community.Ownership of all construction procurement and ensure that they pass each procurement process milestone.Liaise with GAL Legal on ensuring correct terms and conditions are used and any non-standard clauses are approved before use.Work with framework contractors to update, monitor and manage their Programme Execution PlansSupport the Category Manager with framework performance. Qualifications and Experience: Procurement Manager Construction To be well versed and familiar with NEC form of contract but also experience of alternatives forms. (Essential)Being able to draft and negotiate complex contract structures to meet significant business objectives. (Essential)Excellent communicator with strong written and presentation skills. (Essential)Ability to influence and drive behavioural change across many layers of leadership both internally and with the supply chain. (Essential)Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. (Essential)A value set of high integrity and sense of purpose to make a difference. (Essential)Thrives in fast pace, challenging and changing environment. (Essential)Degree calibre or significant experience of commensurate / comparable level. (Essential)CIPS qualified or equivalent. (Desirable)Experience of EU procurement Legislation and its application under the Utilities Contracts Regulations 2006 implement Directive 2004/17/EC as amended from time to time. (Desirable)Line management experience. (Desirable)Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialised instruction or practical experience.
