Graduate Technical Designer

Our client manufactures a variety of products for the construction industry; they are based near Horsham, West Sussex and have a varied and interesting line of products and services. They have a position on their team for someone who would like to work towards a Technical Designer, they are happy to train someone who is articulate, enthusiastic, creative, technically minded and motivated. You would be joining their friendly Project Design team who focus on providing contractors, manufacturers, engineers and architects with project specific solutions to construction challenges. Salary is circa £20'000 to £25000 per annum depending on experience, there is a generous company bonus scheme (based on personal and company performance), 20 days' holiday (plus Bank Holidays), good working environment/friendly team and a contributory pension scheme. Hours are 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday. Requirements:A Qualification in Engineering, Construction, Product Design or Civil Engineering (ideally a degree, apprenticeship, HNC - or similar)Some experience in a construction or design related position Good AutoCAD skills/experienceDesire to work in construction or civil engineering sectorSomeone who is enthusiastic and passionate about engineering / design and problem solving Able to read engineering and construction drawingsNeeds to be Competent with AutoCAD - 2D minimum preferably 3DStrong communication skills - verbal and writtenComputer literacy including Word, Excel, Outlook The Role:This is a varied role which includes CAD drawing and detailing, take offs, estimating and project administrationProducing 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for pricing, customer approval and manufactureSpeaking to customers to understand their specific requirementsPreparing quotations Handling customer enquiries through to order delivery Liaison with production department on both product design, methods of manufacture and delivery schedules FPR Group is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
