Your previous experience of working in facilities management will be welcomed in this fixed-term role, where you will become an integral member of our team which plays a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the facilities management service for the university.  The Estates function has a significant profile within the university so a strong blend of personal and professional qualities will be essential, particularly the ability to work constructively with a wide range of administrative and academic colleagues in pursuit of the university’s objectives and fulfilment of its Strategy

Based at our Eastbourne and Hastings site, you will assist the Site Manager in the development and maintenance of support services to site users with a particular emphasis on the highest level of customer service.  Supporting, developing and motivating the caretaking team is an important part of the role, as is the supervision and monitoring of all aspects of managing the site such as health and safety, record keeping, security and cleaning.

To succeed in the role, you will be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills and an understanding of facilities management issues gained in a multi-site environment.  A team leading qualification or equivalent experience is also required, as is the ability to influence and develop staff to meet objectives and the ability to work on your own initiative.  You will also need a Health and Safety qualification to ensure compliance at all times and the ability to communicate with a wide range of external individuals and organisations.

The role requires you to travel regularly and efficiently between sites and to participate in the out of hours call-out scheme.

The post is fixed-term until December 2019 and job sharers are welcome.
