At Southern Water our customers are at the heart of everything we do. In order to give them the best possible experience we are currently recruiting for people with a real passion for customer service. You will be based at our newly refurbished Falmer site in our fast paced contact centre, taking inbound calls from Southern Water customers who have a problem or query with the supply of their fresh water or removal of their waste water.

It’s vital we really listen to our customers, demonstrating empathy and a commitment to resolving any issues. You will chase resolutions, update our customers with progress reports and ensure we do what we say we’re going to do. Often handling difficult situations you will maintain a calm and professional manner at all times.

To excel in this position you will need exceptional communication skills, ideally with a background in customer service. You will be an adept problem solver, comfortable managing issues through to resolution. You’ll have strong administrative capabilities, and be able to present information clearly both verbally and in writing. You will need 5 GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) including Maths & English.

Shift working:

As a front line service department we are open 365 days of the year from 7am to 11pm. It is therefore essential you are able to work on a shift rotation that includes weekends and bank holidays. If you are not able to work weekends and bank holidays then this isn’t the position for you.
