ParkerSteel is one of the largest steel distributors and processors in the UK, with a turnover in excess of £100 million and employing more than 500 people. The company is currently growing at an annual rate of 20% and a central part of this growth is maintaining an effective, efficient, motivated and happy workforce.  With this in mind, an exciting role has arisen for a proactive, self-motivated individual to join our busy direct sales department as a Sales Executive based in Hove.

The role will involve maximising sales from existing and new clients by adopting a proactive and persistent approach whilst delivering optimum customer service. You will generate and follow-up on enquiries, process orders, complete relevant reports and associated administration. 

The role comes with good career prospects and the ability to earn well above the basic salary.

Job Type: Full-time


  • Hours: 37.5 hours minimum per week (you may be required to work additional hours to meet business demands)
  • Holiday: 20 days pa

Experience and Skills

  • Computer literate with a great eye for detail
  • Experience of working in a sales environment is ideal, but not essential
  • Knowledge of the construction industry and materials would be preferable, but not essential


  • Able to multitask and work under pressure
  • Enthusiastic, can do attitude willing to learn a new system
  • Excellent telephone and face to face communication skills
  • The ability to achieve a performance standard against a set target
  • Highly proactive and motivated to increase sales and accrue
