We are therefore seeking someone with a keen interest in vinegrowing for the following role:

Vineyard apprentice who will, through attending a City and Guilds qualification on a day-release basis, and with the support of the Vineyard Instructor and Vineyard and Winery Operative, learn to establish and maintain vineyards and carry out basic winery tasks. The candidate must have ambitions to start a career in viticulture and be able to work outdoors in challenging weather.

The new post-holder will join a strong international team at Plumpton Wine Centre, a modern specialist facility with its own vineyard and winery. Through completing a two-year apprenticeship and relevant qualification, we would expect the successful candidate to be able to secure a skilled and responsible job in a vineyard, not just in the UK, but anywhere where vines are grown commercially.

Rates of pay:

Year 1: Under 18 years old - £4.05 per hour, over 18 years old - £5.60 per hour

Year 2: Minimum wage
