Learning & Research Facilitator
The main purpose and scope of the post -
The College’s Learning & Research Centres provide resources for guided, student-centred learning. Designed to facilitate flexible course delivery, they provide extensive learning resources, ICT facilities, specialist software, dedicated resources and materials for subject specialisms and careers. These centres offer learning materials in print, electronic and multimedia formats including research resources and provide an environment for individual work, group work, research, the practice of skills, the provision of evidence and assessment. They embrace all aspects of Information and Learning Technology.
The Learning & Research Centres staff are responsible for maximising the effectiveness of our resource-based learning centres, supporting and assisting students, organising, developing and promoting resources, in consultation and cooperation with Course teams, and facilitating user education and induction sessions.
The successful candidate would need previous experience in a learning support environment within the education sector in both HE and FE, experience of researching using digital learning systems and in the use of both PCs and Macs and specialised software e.g. creative or design packages. You will also need to be educated to level 4 or above in a relevant Creative Industries subject, ideally related to Art & Design.
37 hours per week , Term Time Only
