Business and Service Industry Lecturer
Hours: 0.7fte - 25.9 hours per week
Main purpose and scope of the post:
The Business and Travel & Tourism department is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, highly motivated specialist Lecturer in Business who is able to deliver outstanding teaching and assessment across our level 1, 2 and level 3 programmes.
The role requires a lecturer who has a proven track record of working within the sectors and has the ability to apply their Business industry knowledge and experience within an educational setting to deliver high quality course content that is relevant to today’s workplace. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to engage, motivate and support young, mixed ability vocational learners aged 16-19 to achieve their potential is essential.
The role involves managing the process of student recruitment, curriculum planning, assessment of student work, feedback to students, monitoring of student progress and management of student records, student achievement and all associated administration. The role also involves setting learners academic and pastoral targets and guiding and advising learners on appropriate career progression, whether this is Higher Education, Apprenticeships, or into Employment.
You will be responsible for ensuring that resource materials and teaching reflect best practice and contributing to the quality of provision measured by retention, attendance, success rates, high grades and value added.
The successful candidate will have experience in the Business industry. Candidates will have relevant previous teaching experience and hold a teaching qualification. Candidates must have excellent organisational, administration skills and IT skills
Experience delivering the BTEC qualifications in Business and assessing the units is essential for this post.
