The St Peter & St James Hospice is situated in the heart of the Sussex countryside near Haywards Heath, providing specialist palliative care to support, empower and care for people towards and at the end of life. The Hospice has the following vacancy within its busy Fundraising Department.
£25K p.a. 37.5 hours per week Mon-Fri (+ some weekend and evening work required).
We have an opportunity for an experienced Events Fundraiser to join our successful fundraising team.
Your role will be to develop the hospice’s calendar of events, taking responsibility for the delivery of a portfolio of sustainable events, which give an effective ROI in terms of income, supporter engagement, donor development and awareness raising.
You will create and follow project plans and budgets for each event to include detailed event delivery schedules and comprehensive risk assessments. This will also include developing and implementing marketing plans to promote all events including preparing marketing briefs, approval material proofs and organising mailing activities.
The job holder will develop and maintain relationships with event participants and sponsors including offering advice, support and encouragement.
Using your exceptional customer service skills you will represent the hospice at all events, identify potential corporate partners to match them to relevant hospice fundraising products, and securing auction items, raffle prizes and additional gifts in kind from relevant organisations.
Preferably with fundraising experience or knowledge of how local fundraising processes work you will have excellent communication and customer service skills together with a good level of computer and office skills. Experience of having used Raisers Edge would also be highly beneficial.
