Illuminet Recruitment seeks a 2nd Line Support Engineer to join the Support Services Team within a Managed Services Provider based in Brighton on a full time, permanent basis.

We are on the lookout for a confident, self- driven and hands-on 2nd Line IT Engineer who loves technology, learning new things and suggesting on-going improvements.

This is a varied and interesting role that would suit someone who is customer-focused, has technical experience and proven problem-solving skills.

What you’ll be doing

  • In depth troubleshooting activities
  • Investigating and resolving issues for our customer’s network and IT estates
  • Managing support cases to enable fast resolution for our customers
  • Ensuring all cases are recorded accurately and closed within agreed time frames
  • Sharing knowledge across the team to ensure and enable best practices
  • Supporting ad-hoc projects to develop the capabilities of the Service Centre
  • Delivering all projects to the highest possible standard

Required skills and experience

  • CCNA R&S Qualified
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience resolving technical problems
  • Specialised in supporting Cisco architectures
  • Accurate in both written and verbal communication
  • Flexibility to cover shifts during periods of sickness or annual leave
