Are you a design engineer looking to take the next step along your career path?
If so, we have an exciting opportunity working with a leading healthcare company specialising in the design, development and manufacture of medical devices that improve the lives of patients worldwide. Due to continued growth, we have a position for a Design Engineer to join our highly motivated team.
Working within the Research & Development team, the successful candidate will be working closely with other team members to support front end innovation and the ongoing development of Medical Devices. The candidate will be involved in the Front-End Innovation process, conducting user-based research and generating innovative concepts for evaluation by users and senior members of staff.
The Design Engineer will also support the company New Product Development process, helping to complete design specifications and supporting product validation. The role will also require a significant amount of hands-on work generating prototypes to help visualise and support the development of next generation products.
We are looking for applicants with a design or engineering based degree and at least 1 years practical experience, who have a desire to develop their design skills in the Medical Device industry. The designer will be well organised, have a keen attention to detail, be self-motivated, proactive and ambitious. The successful candidate will need to be confident in their approach and be able to communicate easily with team members, both inside and outside of R&D, as well as senior management.
Required skills & qualifications;
Degree level study completed
A minimum of 2:1 achieved
A minimum of 1 year practical experience
Design or Engineering degree essential
A keen interest and passion for design
Desirable skills;
Medical Device Experience
Graphical Communications
Art
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe Photoshop
Produce prototypes using CAD design
Use 3D printer to model, implement and test design concepts
Good organisational skills
Self-Motivated
