Job Role:           Administration and Office Assistant

Location:           Central Brighton

Terms:                 18 March 2018 for 6/7 weeks

Hours:                 Part-time / full time depending on candidate and availability

Rate:                    £10 per hour

We are looking for an office assistant to support the team with all administrative duties and the smooth running of the office during the busiest period of the year.

Suitable candidates must be highly organised and have previous experience in a similar role. You must have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with an excellent telephone manner and written skills.

Applicants must be available to work Brighton Marathon Event Week, 8th to 15th April 2019 inclusive.

Responsibilities:

  • Brighton Marathon Weekend administration – responding to general enquiry emails & social media, mail merges, usage of Active online registration system (training will be given), stock checking.
  • General administration duties – answering phone, database input, post office duties, photocopying, maintaining office records and computer files
  • General office duties – greeting visitors, tea/coffee, meeting prep, maintain a presentable office, stationery stock check, organising recycling, receiving/booking deliveries
  • Undertaking any other tasks/duties as may be reasonably required
  • Event weekend – to lead an Information point at the event

Skills required:

  • Previous office based experience
  • Competent in database management and confident using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to multi-task and use initiative
  • High level of organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Be able to work well under pressure with tight deadlines

Grounded Events worked with the U.S team to launch the first UK road race 'Ragnar White Cliffs' in 2017 and subsequently deliver events in 2018 and 2019.
