Building Surveyor

An exciting opportunity for an experience Building Surveyor has arisen with a local authority client based on the South Coast.

We are looking for an experienced Building Surveyor to deliver a high quality surveying service providing customer centred, professional building surveying services across the portfolio.

Primarily focusing on housing and residential capital projects it is essential that you have experience in managing schemes varying in value from 300k up to 1.5M +.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To carry out surveys, defects inspections relating to property disrepair or compliance with legislation and to prepare detailed specifications for tender purposes, to evaluate projects and project manage the works to completion.
  • To provide cost details and value for money evaluations and to inspect for quality and customer satisfaction.

  • Work with a variety of stakeholders and partners specifically, Local Authority Partners, Resident Groups, In-House and external Legal team, Neighbourhood committees, Contractors, Loss Adjusters, Consultant/ Engineers.
  • Ensure H&S, regulatory & governance compliance for areas under the job holder's control.

Requirements

  • Excellent building surveying skills and knowledge of construction methods.
  • Experience of Building Control, Planning Applications, CDM 2015, HSE legislation.
  • Experience of building control and planning applications.
  • Familiarity of either Project Management process APM or Prince2.
  • Qualified RICS or MCIOB is essential along with post qualification experience.
  • Understanding of contract law and excellent knowledge of standard form contracts.
  • Full, clean UK driving license and access to a car is essential.
