The business is an all-day Dining cafe/restaurant based just outside Worthing, West Sussex - Serving Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch and Dinner 

Overview 

A unique opportunity for a great Chef, to join our new business offering all-day dining offering, ensures a busy, yet lovely setting. Positioning ourselves as a quality led offering with a daily changing menu alongside the core range, using organic and local produce and this year from our farm.

TASKS

General

  • Lead by example, in every situation
  • Work closely and supportively with all your colleagues, teamwork is essential
  • To work and lead the Kitchen team
  • Create menus && dishes that achieve require %GP target set by Director
  • To lead junior members of the team
  • To adhere to Directors requests
  • Ok, is never good enough
  • Maintaining a professional, safe and hygienic appearance on duty

Working Practice 

  • All aspects of food preparation, cooking and presentation of dishes according to company guidelines/customer preferences
  • Work with food service/bar staff and management regarding customer’s orders and general service of kitchen operations
  • To follow and oversee the use and application of the food safety policy
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment, to include proper storage of food, equipment, utensils, and implements
  • Prevention of working environment hazards and accidents at work, following the accident, first aid, and emergency procedures
  • Ensuring all food safety elements are in place and adhered too - daily temperature checks of fridges, freezers, storage areas, deliveries and recording assessment where necessary.
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as directed by Company directors
  • Cleaning - all kitchen areas in accordance with daily rotas
  • Provide consistently high-quality dishes, which have been prepared, cooked and presented according to company standard and within timescales

Procedures

  • Complete all paperwork accurately, legibly and clearly.
  • Ensure all staff complete timesheets and for you to verify them.
  • Attend all meeting and training sessions, as requested.
  • Comply with all other legal obligations, company policies and practices.
  • Abide by all legal requirements, food hygiene regulations & food safety laws

Hours 

5 out of 7

Circa 45 hours a week, straight and split shifts.
