Managing Surveyor / Commercial Manager Designate – Main Contractor

Salary £70-80K + Car/Car Allowance + Private Healthcare + Pension + Bonus

My client is a regional main contractor with a solid turnover and excellent profitability. As part of their plans for growth, they are now looking for a Managing Surveyor to manage a team of surveyors at various levels of development and support the MD in providing leadership and support to the business in respect of the commercial discipline.

They operate in all sectors including education, healthcare, residential, retail and office securing a wide range of repeat business and new work. Their portfolio includes a wide range of new build and refurbishment projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with refurbishment and/or new build experience seeking career progression to take complete responsibility for a team of staff and live projects, developing the team, promoting best practice and delivering profitable outcomes. This is a strategic role within my client’s business.

Key Responsibilities:

·Oversee the commercial function ensuring robust and accurate reporting processes and controls exist, undertaking the day to day management of the commercial function within the section

·Ensure my client’s governance protocols and procedures are applied

·Achieve high levels of stakeholder engagement and contribute to partnership development

Key Skills and Qualifications:

·Hold relevant qualifications (e.g. Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction management)

·Working knowledge of the construction industry, commercial and procurement processes and procedures

·Experience within a similar role

·Flexibility to work outside standard hours

·Willingness to undertake training and development when appropriate
