Job Details

Grade - NHS AfC: Band 7

This is an exciting opportunity for a healthcare professional to work alongside the Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) in a new role hosted by SFCT. The post is fixed term for 40 months with a view to extending the post in the future. BSMS are establishing an education programme for medical students to increase their understanding of the Autistic Spectrum Condition within families. The Time for Autism (TfA) programme will involve students visiting a family with an autistic child over a 15 month period. The TfA Development Manager will work with the TfA Medical and Research Leads to establish this programme at Seaside View Child Development Centre in Brighton and at the BSMS. The Development Manager will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of the programme to time, budget and the required quality.

As Development Manager you will be responsible for liaising and networking with all the necessary agencies and charities to promote the programme and ensure recruitment of families. This will involve visiting families at home, explaining the programme and gaining their consent to take part. A focused approach to recruitment will be taken, starting in Brighton & Hove with gradual extension across West Sussex.

You will provide support to families who are undertaking the TfA programme, by ensuring regular contact, high quality information and sign-posting where appropriate. Along with colleagues at BSMS you will be involved with the planning and delivery of related education to medical students. You will join a supportive team who have experience of setting up similar educational programme for other conditions.

This would suit an enthusiastic, highly motivated, experienced clinician, who is interested in supporting a new development and working with a range of stakeholders.
