Support Engineer
To provide technical support for products manufactured.
Broad Activities:
* Investigate issues with both production and field returned products producing 8D reports where required
* Provide advice on and testing of replacement parts to cover obsolescence on existing products
* Build prototype test and measurement equipment as required.
* Carry out and report on evaluation and compliance testing to EN Standards for new and existing products.
* Resolve Customer, Sales and Service Teams’ product application enquiries and issues with appropriate support from Technical specialists.
* Liaise with auditors from certification agencies
* Ensure that lessons are learned from investigations, recorded and fed back to development team.
Skills:
* General knowledge of electronics component types and familiarity with digital and analogue circuit schematic designs and operation.
* Familiarity with using a broad range of test equipment: e.g. multi-meters, oscilloscopes, logic analysers
* EMC measurements.
* Methodical approach to fault diagnosis.
* Ability to 'bread-board' simple test-boxes and evaluate circuits.
* Able to use MS Office and other PC based software to communicate problems, analysis & test results, containment and corrective actions etc.
* Must be motivated and manage time to provide timely solutions
* Must have good communications skills (verbal and written) and be a team-player.
Qualifications/Education/Certifications:
Electronic Engineering degree or equivalent. HNC/HND + demonstrated experience may also qualify
Experience:
A minimum of three years experience in a similar role with exposure to a broad range of digital and analogue circuit types – small signal to power electronics.
Functional Competencies:
* Capable of working alone without supervision
* Able to manage own time to achieve required outcome
* Work under pressure
* IT skills
* Communication with other engineers, customers, suppliers
