JOB ROLE: Sales Engineer

REPORTING TO: General Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Achieve the agreed level of turnover for Packages, Pumps, Spares and Repairs business in accordance with the company’s overall budget objectives.

Respond to and follow up all sales bids/tenders and RFQ’s for Packages, Pumps, Spares and Repairs in line with the Company’s operating procedures and policy’s.

Work actively to promote our client’s products globally across given territories, working with Agents who promote our client’s products within nominated Countries.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES

- Process all sales activities relating to the Bid/Tender/RFQ in a timely manner, communicating internally and externally using the appropriate methods to ensure the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.

- Accurately monitoring and reporting on the market and competitors activities and provide relevant reports and information.

- Entering RFQ’s and Sales orders received into the company database (TABS) in line with procedures.

- Arrange engineer service/maintenance visits, Make all necessary travel arrangements for all Ram Pumps personnel going out on service/maintenance visits.

- Listening to customer requirements, understanding all customers specifications and data sheets and presenting, bidding appropriately within the specified requirements to ensure the sale.

- Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers in person, via telephone calls and email correspondence.

- Arrange meetings with potential customers to prospect for new business.

- Gather good sound Market and Customer information and data.

- Attend team meetings and sharing best practices with colleagues.

- Work with the Sales team to develop and an effective marketing strategy.

- Process all invoices and credits, posting all transactions accurately.

- Administrative tasks, creating and sending out literature packs, arranging advertising and letters of credits.

- Maintain, update and monitor the activity on the company website

MUST BE ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN OUR CLIENT’S QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROCESS.

CRITICAL FACTORS AND COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS

- College Degree or Equivalent.

- Detailed Knowledge of the company’s Products and Services.

- Solid Engineering background and knowledge of Reciprocating Triplex Pumps.

- Good Knowledge of the Oil and Gas Industry.

- Oil and Gas process engineering knowledge.

- Above average mathematic skills, such that pricing, costing, project justification, financial and data analysis can be performed efficiently and accurately to enable good problem solving and decision making.

- Above average ability to communicate verbally in group settings.

- Above average ability to communicate in written format using correct grammar and spelling.

- Good decision making skills

- Commercial Awareness.

- Administration processes, competent in office word and excel spreadsheets.
