Band 8a Professional Lead for Adults Speech and Language Therapy

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Adult's Speech and Language Therapist to take up the position of Professional Lead for Adult's SLT at Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust.
Our Speech and Language Therapy Service is based in 6 geographical areas, covering a diverse population and range of conditions including dysphagia management, progressive neurology, non-progressive neurology, dysfluency and communication issues. We offer a mixture of clinic based, group sessions and home visits.
We are therefore looking for a dynamic, innovative Adult's Speech and Language Therapist with significant clinical experience and excellent leadership skills to continue to develop and improve our services for our patients and their families across the wide geographical area that is served by Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust.
You will be part of the wider Professional Leadership Team led by the Professional Head of Therapies, and will work in close conjunction with service managers and Professional Lead colleagues in Nursing, Dietetics, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy to ensure the care we deliver is evidence-based, safe and effective.
This role is designed to ensure we have the right people with the right skills delivering excellent patient care. You should have a keen interest in national initiatives relative to Speech and Language Therapy and be able to translate best practice guidance into local service delivery. You will be able to maintain a small clinical caseload and support colleagues in delivering high quality care. You must be proactive, innovative and forwarding thinking and able to support the ongoing professional development of this motivated staff group
