C++ Linux software engineer required to advance our client’s real-time tracking platform which is installed on vehicles and on street in multiple countries.

The Position:

Utilising extensive experience of developing C++ applications within a Linux environment, the successful candidate will build Linux from scratch on a variety of platforms and chipsets and work with new hardware platforms, installing device drivers and building automation systems. Our client is currently extending its system in ways that make full use of mobile Linux platforms’ capabilities, thereby creating opportunities for interesting challenges in the public transport space. This is a hugely open-minded company, so the successful candidate’s experience and ideas will significantly influence its product.

The Candidate:

Applicants should be self-reliant and creative, ideally with an interest in or experience of transport and tracking projects, and with thorough knowledge of:

* C++ and STL or Boost

* Linux environment (preferably Debian)

* Linux Scripting Bash or Python

* Linux package management, networking, services (e.g. systemd)

* GIT
