An an excellent opportunity has arisen fro an Insurance Administrator to join a well established insurance company in Eastbourne.

Due to continued growth and new business acquisition they are seeking an Insurance Administrator to join their team.

The main focus of this role is to work as part of a team and individually to ensure that customers are handled in a friendly, useful and professional way and that customer’s enquiries, payments, checking and issuing of documents are handled in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements. To provide administration support to the sales team.

Key Responsibilities

To provide help and support to customers over the telephone, by letter, e-mail or face-to-face

  • Investigate and solve customers’ problems within the required timescales
  • To undertake general administrative duties including opening and sending correspondence via letter or email to ensure the smooth flow of work within the Administration Department.
  • Requesting client documentation
  • Checking and issuing documentation
  • Keep records of correspondence by scanning to the correct files
  • Complete work such as MTA’s, renewals, diaries etc. as necessary.
  • Liaising with insurance companies
  • Update The MID in accordance with the insurance companies procedures
  • Process funding company payments and cancellation requests in accordance with the funding companies procedures.
  • Process outstanding payments following company procedures
  • Build knowledge and understanding of products and policies and ensure understanding with your colleagues.
  • Complete reasonable work requests from your manager as required.
  • Develop underwriting knowledge.
  • Ensure that the correct processes have been followed and that areas such as cancellations could be avoided, the correct fees have been charged and diaries are being completed correctly.
  • Deliver good customer service by responding swiftly to queries and concerns from clients.
  • Remain positive at all times.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of market conditions.
  • Maintain a flexible approach in order to accommodate the companies changing needs and growth.
  • Maintain a flexible approach to shift patterns as reasonably requested by the management team.
  • Accuracy when inputting information into the systems
  • Share best practice and offer ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that new business and renewals administration are being completed in line with the company procedures.
  • Develop relevant knowledge and skills and attend training as required.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and procedures such as the FCA by keeping up to date with all changes in the regulatory framework.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times
  • To ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act at all times.
  • To ensure compliance with Treating Customers Fairly (TCF).

Must have a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality and business profit. A natural forward planner who critically assesses their own performance. Mature, credible, and comfortable in dealing with various customer types. Reliable, tolerant, and determined. A good communicator and able to see things from the other person's point of view. Well presented and business like. Keen for new experience, responsibility and accountability. Able to get on with others and be a team-player.

Requirements:

Good working knowledge of MS Office 2013 or later, particularly Excel, Word, Access, Internet and email. Ideally come from an insurance back ground. Have a good level of Maths and English.

Other Skills/Abilities:

Must have a genuine interest in working with and helping customers, have good communication skills, good presentation and a polite, tactful and friendly character. A good understanding of numbers and planning, the ability to be flexible, decisive and quick-thinking. The ability to handle difficult situations in a patient, calm and effective way and be able to work independently as well as part of a team. Have good attention to detail.
