HR Administrator, part-time, 3-month fixed term contract

Are you looking for part-time hours to fit in around your commitments, do you fancy the idea of testing the waters and seeing whether a job in HR is for you?  If so, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Administrator to join our friendly and busy HR Team looking after around 140 staff and 400 volunteers on an initial fixed term three-month contract. St Peter & St James Hospice provides specialist palliative care for patients near or at the end of life in the heart of Mid-Sussex.  We are set in a stunning and peaceful woodland setting in North Chailey.

You will need to be accurate with a good eye for detail, be a self starter, have excellent IT skills in Outlook, Word and Excel and have a proactive, positive attitude.  You will be primarily responsible for processing all new employee paperwork relating to the recruitment of both staff and volunteers.  This will include taking up references, ensuring we have the correct personal ID paperwork for processing DBS checks and updating our spreadsheets.  You will be greatly involved in recruitment assisting with advertising vacancies, monitoring received applications, arranging interviews and sending regret communications.  There will be other ad hoc administrative duties including filing and photocopying.

Previous HR experience would be advantageous but, key to the ongoing success and development of the HR department is someone who has excellent interpersonal skills, is confidential and professional at all times and has a good understanding of what the job entails making use of their strong communication and organisational skills.
