About Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships give you the opportunity to work for a real employer, earn a real salary and gain a real qualification whilst gaining valuable workplace skills and experience.

There are three types of Apprenticeships you can apply for depending on your current skills and qualifications:
  • Intermediate Level Apprenticeships
  • Advanced Level Apprenticeships
  • Higher/Degree Apprenticeships

Higher Apprenticeships are equivalent to degrees and more of these specialised and highly skilled apprenticeships are being offered each year, giving you the chance to continue your professional development and fully realise your potential.

All Apprenticeship levels can be taken by school and college leavers or internal existing staff members.

How can an Apprenticeship benefit you?
Apprenticeships can be a great alternative to college and university as you gain a minimum of a year’s work experience and an industry-based qualification. The majority of Apprentices are offered a full-time job role on completion of the Apprenticeship scheme.

  • Earn whilst you learn – The National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.90 per hour, you can find out more here.
  • Real work experience – A minimum of a year’s work experience working in a well-established company to go on your CV.
  • A nationally recognised qualification – the qualification is built up around the specific work you do in your business, more information can be found here.
  • Real career prospects – on completion of the Apprenticeship 90% of Apprentices have stayed in employment with a third achieving promotion and a huge 75% of employers feel that Apprentices are becoming more employable.
