Tips for getting the most views and applications in January!

With the "New Year, New Me" mentally in full swing, now is the best time to advertise your vacancies. Every year we see an increase in views and applications in January. We saw double the amount of applications and views in January 2019 compared to December 2018!

Below are easy things you can do to increase the views and applications of your vacancies.

1. Create an advert which blows the others out the water

The unemployment rate is at a 44 year low which is brilliant for our society but it does make recruiting a little bit more challenging, and with over 3,000 jobs on, you need to stand out! Candidates have such a variety of companies to choose from, it’s important you position your company as the most desirable place to work. Do you offer flexi-time? Early Friday finishes? Regular staff socials? Maybe your pension scheme is something to shout about? Include these details in your job advert to stand out from your competition.

2. Use social media to promote what makes your company a great place to work!

Post behind the scenes content such as Christmas party photos to show the culture your business possesses. Candidates want to see if your culture suits their values and to make sure your business is the right fit for them.

3. Proactively headhunt candidates on LinkedIn, and change your title to ‘recruiting now’.

More than 70% of people who are currently employed are considering a new job so using LinkedIn is a great way to reach these candidates. You may even catch those golden gems that haven’t even thought about leaving their current position yet.

4. Use a CV search to find the right candidate for your vacancy

Excuse the not so subtle plug but we offer a CV Database where you can proactively find candidates with the right experience and qualifications for the vacancy you are recruiting for. Call the team on 01273 651100 to find out more about how we can help you find the perfect candidate for your business.

5. Post your advert to!

We know the majority of candidates use at least 4 sites to find a job. UnlikeIndeed, when you post on your job will also be included on Google for Jobs and aggregator websites such as Jooble so your job receives more reach for your money. You can also upload jobs to your Facebook Business page for FREE!
