Financial Accounting Manager - Rentokil Initial

Crawley

Are you an experienced accountant with a passion for technical accounting and external reporting? We are looking for a Financial Accounting Reporting Manager to join our team and serve as the Rentokil Initial UK businesses technical accounting expert. In this role, you will manage a small team whose role is to provide essential guidance on technical accounting matters, lead significant projects like the adoption of new accounting standards across the region, and ensure the seamless preparation of our annual reports.

You and your team will also be responsible for business returns and any regulatory filing requirements, own any local tax reporting requirements, support the wider businesses with tax queries and act as the liaison with Group Tax. You will also support the Head of Financial Controls and Compliance with the management of the local Governance environment and manage the team responsible for ensuring compliance with the UK Apprenticeship reporting and reclaim process.

Reports to the Head of Financial Controls and Compliance. Two direct reports with c. 10 and 2 years experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Accounting Expert: Serve as the first point of contact for all technical accounting matters across business units and central functions, offering guidance on new or updated accounting standards.
  • External Reporting: Lead the preparation of financial statements for our annual reports, and work closely with the audit team to ensure an efficient process. Manage the completion of business returns and any other external reporting required as part of the local accounting environment.
  • Internal Reporting: Lead the preparation and submission of internal processes which will include but not limited to; Insurance returns, PSA, P11d, Corporation tax return support.
  • Audit: Act as key contact for the external audit process and manage the team responsible for organisation and delivery of audit requirements.
  • Apprenticeship Reporting: manage the reclaim process and ensure compliance with the regulatory framework
  • SOX/General Control: Support the Head of Financial Control & Compliance in ensuring the SOX control environment remains robust and compliant and that the general internal control environment is effective.

Requirements:

To be considered for the role we would like you to have the following:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualified accountant.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • Experience in preparing annual reports and accounts.
  • Proven ability to work on statutory and management accounts.
  • Excellent spreadsheet, and analytical skills.
  • Strong focus on internal controls and delivering on deadlines.
  • Desirable experience in acquisition take on accounting
