We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced social worker to join our Ofsted rated Outstanding London & South East region. We need an experienced practitioner to join our team in the East and West Sussex area, on a working from home arrangement. The ideal candidate will share our ongoing commitment to providing excellent service to children and foster carers. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week.
Supervising Social Workers are responsible for managing fostering households in an allocated area and the successful candidate will be responsible for supervision of foster carers to provide quality placements for children and young people in our care.
Who we are looking for
You will need to be a qualified Social Worker, preferably with recent experience of working in a fostering service. You will possess a good working knowledge of relevant legislation and their impact on fostering services. Participation in an evening and weekend on call rota is expected.
You will be a strong communicator, (both written and verbal), have good IT skills, be flexible and able to travel throughout the area.
The successful candidate will also be required to travel regularly to the regional offices for team meetings, training and professional supervision.
Essential Criteria
* Qualified Social Worker (Dip SW or CQSW or equivalent)
* Car driver and access to a vehicle
* Current registration with the relevant Social Work regulatory council (e.g. HCPC)
* Recent experience in services for children
* Demonstrates a working knowledge of, and an understanding of relevant legislation and minimum standards relating to fostering
* Ability to use ICT effectively to fulfil job responsibilities
