Head of IT Solution Delivery, Blue Chip Company in Brighton, Up to £90,000 Base + £9600 Car Allowance + Up to 55% Bonus + 38 Days Holiday + 15% Pension + Agile Working !!!!

Purpose of the Role:

To deliver all IT related projects. The Head of Solutions Delivery will lead a team of Systems Analysts, Engineers, System Integration specialists, developers (in house and third party) and IT Project Delivery Leads who’s focus will be on designing and implementing new solutions and enhancing existing solutions.

Main Duties:

To take the lead in all matters with regard to the management of employees, making sure management discretion is used in a consistent manner, and that the area follows the Group’s policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement to maximize business performance.

Lead the delivery function of Group Finance IT. Ensuring exacting standards of quality, security, continuity of service, commercial outcomes, governance, policy, process and tools. Set, regularly monitor and deliver on key performance indicators across the function, delivering continuous improvement, managing the relationship with key stakeholders and suppliers.

You will be responsible for well controlled and governed delivery and early life support and effective handover to IT operations of portfolio of IT related projects, changes and workstreams (as either agile or waterfall as appropriate). Managing IT deliverables to cost, schedule and quality. Provide direction and oversight to teams to design, develop, deploy and sustain solutions for the business and customers

Work closely with the BAU and Security teams to help recover systems during unplanned events and subsequently with Service Management on root cause and corrective/preventative actions.

Establish and manage business plan, budget and forecasts, taking corrective action as necessary. Plan coordinate and deploy resources and workload appropriately across the team to meet service and business demands.

Provide input to and influence the development of the IT strategy and roadmap. Scanning for opportunities to enhance the delivery IT services. Play an influential role in Senior IT Management Team to ensure Project Delivery and Development are aligned to operational and strategic plans

Recommend improvements to current systems and services, proactively manage risk and plan for audits. Work with other teams to discover and document root causes and corrective actions for any problems. Improve services and drive down total cost of ownership

Ideal Skills Background:

This role would suit someone with 10+ years working in IT with proven experience of management/leadership; including leadership experience working with complex teams and 3rd Party Service Providers, preferably in the Financial Service industry.

This role requires a strong overall application delivery and IT/Technical project management specific skills and experience and commercial awareness across multiple functional areas.

Prince 2 , Scaled Agile (SaFE) accreditation or experience
Strong customer focus background,
To be able to appreciate strategy
Strong financial acumen with exposure to managing multi-million pound budgets and ensure value for money is delivery.
Significant experience in managing delivery of IT projects, with a mix of significant ‘BAU’ change and transformational change.
Experienced in waterfall and agile development and associated governance frameworks and standards
Ability to develop, and project a positive image of the IT function and company through interpersonal, written and verbal communications to a wide range of audiences.
Strong organisational and change management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise. .
A strong and practical understanding of both on premise and cloud computing

Technical Understanding:

Recognised, formal standards for IT control and Security Management Systems, including ISO27001, COBIT, ITIL
Dynamic and Static Application Security System Testing
User Support
System Testing
Technical solution design
Supplier procurement process and supplier management
Good understanding of Financial, actuarial, data and BI solutions
Tools, technologies and languages: C# JavaScript, Powershell, Oracle, SAS, VBA .net, Visual Studio, SQL
