THE ROLE – ASSISTANT GROUP REVENUE MANAGER

SCOPE

Alexander Hotels has expanded over the last year and we require an Assistant Group Revenue Manager to further strengthen our Group Revenue team based at our Alexander House Hotel & Utopia Spa in Turners Hill, West Sussex.

Reporting to the Group Revenue Manager, you will be part of the senior revenue management team implementing strategies to grow the business. You will be responsible for supporting the Group  Revenue Manager in maximising Room and Spa Day revenue and will utilise all revenue management tactics, processes and procedures, whilst being responsible for helping to drive total revenue through accommodation and spa.

MAIN DUTIES

You have three key areas of responsibility;

  • Managing reservations and revenue management systems, achieving financial targets and implementing strategies to maximise sales.
  • Manage a team of 8, motivating them to achieve their targets and driving them to success with their incentives.
  • Ensuring service delivery and customer delight in every aspect of the reservations process for both Spa Day and Bedroom Reservations.

Your main duties will cover;

1.         To create maximum occupancy, rate and revenue for the hotels on an ongoing basis.

2.         Encourage the team to work flexibly, which will develop their knowledge and assist in the     

             event of absence cover, and allow service standards to be maintained.

3.         To create an environment which promotes good employee morale and encourages the team

             to have a high level of commitment.

4.         To record and produce accurate management information for the hotels and Directors in the  

             absence of the Group Revenue & Reservation Manager.

5.         To manage group bookings.

6.         To ensure that all packages are correctly set up to achieve accurate billing information.

7.         Maintain and update all distribution channels in line with the current selling strategies as set

             out by the Group Reservation & Revenue Manager and General Managers of each hotel.

8.         Assist in the agreed rate strategy for each hotel in place for the following year and this is

             communicated as necessary.

9.         Account Management of local Corporates and various third party agents to maximise revenue

             targets.

10.        Review Spa bookings to ensure business mix and package revenue are maximised.  

11.        To attend weekly yield meetings and monthly Heads of Department meetings

12.        To ensure at all times your team are aware of targets for the department.

13.        Commitment to cross training and multi-skilling between departments.

14.        Conducting appraisals and setting monthly objectives to the reservations team.

15.        Ensuring all areas of responsibility comply with Health and Safety Policy and requirement

             including compilation of risk assessments as appropriate.

REQUIREMENTS

Successful candidates will need a proven record of experience covering;

  • Good commercial understanding of revenue tools and systems
  • Fully comprehend the travel industry distribution landscape. This includes third party channels, GDS, and property management systems
  • Analytical and data focused
  • Team player with positive working attitude
  • Strong communication skills
  • Can demonstrate flexibility and thrives on fast paced decision making
