PHP/ Backend/ developer/ SQL/ MySQL/ software engineer/ Laravel/ Apache/ Linux/ Windows/ Agile

Looking for a backend PHP developer to create new features and contribute to the overall design within my client's rapidly growing tracking application.

My client's core technologies for web development are Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP deployed which they are currently rearchitecting into the Laravel framework.

Experience with Laravel or similar MVC frameworks is essential. Although the role focuses on the backend, you will become familiar over time with the complete end-to-end operation of the system including the real time tracking data flowing in through to the system and the apps, pages, apis and reports providing data to their customers - bus companies, bus users, data aggregators and app developers.

An interest in or experience with transport and tracking project would be advantageous. Also relevant would be experience with big data reporting engines like Elasticsearch which we use for archiving to and reporting on our large historical dataset. You will be able to draw on your experience to spot areas in a system which can benefit from redesign.

You will be experienced in most of the technologies we use which, at minimum, includes Linux, Apache, Mysql, PHP and MVC Frameworks preferably Laravel.

Essential skills: PHP, Scripting (Bash or Python), SQL, Javascript, Jquery, CSS, HTML, MVC, Git, Bootstrap

Useful skills: Websockets, Networking, Jira, Agile, Elasticsearch
