Project / Planning Engineer

In order to meet the company’s planned growth in 2019 and beyond with an increasing workload of Research and Development projects together with large system orders for new process equipment contracts we are now looking for a full time experienced skilled Project / Planning engineer to oversee the planning and timely execution of large project phases with a particular emphasis on time management, delivery and associated budgetary cost controls.

Our clients background in investing in both internal as well as externally funded R&D programs. The successful applicant will play a key role in our culture of collaboration and creativity, bringing new ideas and ways of working that drive innovation.

·Understand, agree and develop engineering project objectives by studying design requirements, specification documents and technical engineering drawings

·Apply and represent the true companies interests and objectives

·Work independently managing own workload of multiple large projects with integrity and diligence. This will include working in coordination with UKI Government R&D programmes involving external partners

·Provide and apply accurate, results orientated professional project management skills

·Understanding and organising anticipated labour requirements on a project

·Carrying out, evaluate and understand risk on project plans

·Ensure all the aims of the project are met

·Making sure the quality standards are met

·Monitoring internal work instructions and sub-contractors to ensure directives and guidelines are maintained

·Understanding of budgets and costings within an engineering based environment

·Reporting to the company directors, management team and funding partners on progress by means of attending review meetings and presentations

·Evaluating the success of the project against its benchmarking and sharing lessons or best practice with other team members.

·Apply high levels of communication skills within company using Project planning Gantt chartsoftware and other project management tools.

·Ideally have experience or understanding of mechanical, vacuum and electrical systems used in large specialised processing equipment assemblies.

BEng in a relevant Engineering subject

Project and planning management background with a minimum of 3 years’ experience within a systems engineering business environment.
