Assistant Principal 1 with responsibility for the following areas:-

Greater Brighton Metropolitan College (GB Met) aims to transform the lives of students across the Greater Brighton region. The college invests in a broad curriculum offer establishing a sound educational footing of mathematics, English and employability skills while at the same time developing a suite of technical and vocational specialisms at level 3 and above. There will be an expansion of its higher education and technical offer and an emphasis on apprenticeships and work-based learning.

We are looking to recruit an exceptional Assistant Principal who will form a part of the GB Met Senior Leadership team. Successful candidates will regard an outstanding student learning experience as being the most important characteristic of a successful college. Main purpose and scope of the post: 

To ensure continuous and measurable quality improvements, contributing to the achievement of College key performance indicators (KPIs)

To deliver an exceptional student experience; ensuring teaching, learning and assessment is of a consistently high standard and that students achieve, succeed, progress and gain sustainable employment

To lead specific cross-college areas of responsibility e.g. 14-19 study programmes, Higher Education, Adult Learning, English and mathematics and support the development of curriculum to ensure alignment with the requirements of business, community and students

To contribute to the achievement of student recruitment targets: ensuring that curriculum is attractive to students, relevant to business and HE and fully supported by appropriate marketing and recruitment strategies

To lead, manage and develop staff teams actively identifying and supporting talent and addressing unsatisfactory performance.

To be an active member of the senior leadership team and communicate, implement and promote the college strategy

To liaise effectively with internal and external partners and stakeholders and to work in partnership with organisations and agencies including local authorities, schools, businesses, community and voluntary organisations.

To take responsibility for the management of a specified college site whilst operating across the whole College estate

To effectively set, monitor and manage budgets and other College resources within areas of responsibility

To prepare reports, as required by the Principal, CEO or COO

To undertake other duties commensurate with the post as defined by the Principal

To promote the College vision and mission and embody the College values
