Our client is a leading Highways and Traffic consultancy delivering vital services for public sector clients and private sector businesses. Due to significant growth throughout 2018 we are now looking to add a Senior Highways Engineer to work in the business on a range of schemes.

The Senior Engineer shall be responsible for:
Projects assigned to them by Project Managers, General Managers or Directors.
To provide effective project and people management and lead on multiple projects. To assist with the financial control, quality management and technical input for all assigned projects.
Ensuring that the project is managed in a safe and professional manner and is undertaken in compliance with all relevant Health and Safety legislation.

Key Tasks and Duties
·The design and documentation of civil infrastructure components of the projects, including but not limited to, Highway design (S38/S278) both preliminary and detailed & Drainage design both strategic and detailed.
·Conduct any liaison or consultation with statutory authorities or undertakers as necessary to implement the construction of the project.
·Can complete work to the Quality Standards applicable to the project as directed
·Can learn new skills, with guidance
·Demonstrates a professional attitude
·Contributes to a shared ownership of workload
·Has a proactive approach to projects and systems
·Preparing reports & contract documents
·Production and checking of drawings (AutoCAD)
·Communicating with suppliers, clients, contractors, the public and other engineers
·Analysing problems and developing innovative solutions

·Computer literate with Microsoft Project and other specialist computer packages (AutoCAD, Civils3d, Micro Drainage, etc).
·Some design or site experience gained on a work placement.
·Experience or an interest in developing the application of software and other digital solutions to engineering problems
·BIM appreciation

Qualifications
·Accredited degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering
·A Level (or equivalent) in Maths
·Consideration given to significant relevant experience in lieu of specified education and professional qualification.
