Brighton based residential school and college for young adults and children with varying learning disabilities is recruiting for care workers to work in both the educational establishment and the residential settings.

The role of Care Worker is important in ensuring that the School and College meets the educational, social, emotional and learning needs of all Learners. To work on a 'team approach' but there are specific roles and responsibilities attached to this post.

You will assist residents aged 16-25 with self-care independence skills including eating, drinking washing, mobility and transport and the administration of medication. You will also assist residents in accessing appropriate leisure activities on site and off site. The charity holds a great local reputation and therefore have high standards based on their care, support, professionalism and conduct. Successful applicants must have a desire and passion to work with young people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.

You must have experience of working in a similar setting or a care background. You must also be able to work shifts.

The school is well established and highly respected, run like a mini community there is an amazing cafe run by residents and various other internal projects that help to maintain the family feel. You wont be just an employee, you will be part of a large family working together.

Both 38 weeks (TT only) and 52 week contracts are available.


Previous experience working in a similar setting is essential and you must be committed to the overall development of the young people, driving them to meet their and exceed their full potential.
