An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Clinical Research Nurse to join our friendly and dynamic team at Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT).

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic nurse to join our research delivery team. Ideally you will have research delivery experience and must have significant nursing experience.

This post is to facilitate and support research activity at SCFT. We have current research involving Children's services, Time to Talk, motor neurone disease, older people in community hospitals, Palliative Care, Rehabilitation services, Bladder and Bowel services, the Immunisation team, Diabetes Care for You, and Chailey Clinical Services. The role focuses on research studies adopted by the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR - the research arm of the Department of Health, England). The post holder will collaborate with key personnel to coordinate research studies, working with the respective clinical team and collaborating with organisations outside the Trust to support our research activities. The post holder will have or develop specialised skills and knowledge relating to the conduct of clinical research. They will proactively facilitate high standards of care and promote continuity of care of participants engaged in clinical research studies. The post holder will be required to identify participants wishing to take part in research studies, facilitate participation, undertake consent procedures, data collection and data management. Clinical responsibilities will include the care of participants in clinical research studies and day-to-day management of research studies.

The post holder will be expected to work flexibly and autonomously across Trust locations and be prepared to travel across the Trust geographical area as required.
