St Barnabas Hospices offers specialist palliative care through two hospices: St Barnabas House provides palliative care to adults in the Worthing, Adur, Arun and Henfield areas through a range of services, including In-patient Care, Day Hospice and Community Care. Chestnut Tree House is the children's hospice reaching across Sussex and South East Hampshire. Providing care and support for children/young people and their families with life-shortening conditions.
Our Maintenance Officers play a vital role within the running of the hospices. We take pride in the environment in which we operate, and it is the Maintenance Officers responsibility to ensure that all equipment and facilities are fully functioning, keeping the safety of Patients, customers and employees at the forefront of everything we do.
Principle duties & responsibilities:
- Maintenance Officer is required to work across a fast-paced environment and multi-site.
- You will be required to carry out various reactive and planned maintenance tasks across our sites in a professional manner.
- Day to Day duties will include Plumbing, Carpentry, General Maintenance and Painting Decorating.
- To ensure planned maintenance tasks are completed to the stated schedules and keeping records of when works are completed.
- Maintaining internal and external repairs are completed within the set time frames
- All emergency equipment is maintained and in good working condition
- Candidates must have excellent organisational skills.
- Supervise volunteers within the maintenance team
- Undertake such other work as may be assigned which is consistent with the nature of the job and its level of responsibility.
- Ensure Health and Safety guidelines are adhered to
- Work with external contractors and act as site liaison when works are carried out to ensure all site health and safety policy is followed.
A full driving license is essential for this role, as you will be working across two sites.
