We are pleased to present you with a fantastic opportunity to kick start your Engineering Career as an apprentice who will learn to use all of the machinery required to design and manufacture foam products and to maintain extremely high-qualifying standards, ensuring we provide customers with the highest quality service.

What we offer:

  • By the end of your apprenticeship you will have developed the knowledge and skills to:

  1. Use CNC machines
  2. Use CAD/CAM systems and drawings as required
  3. Load and unload foam materials from the machines
  4. Carry out product quality inspections
  5. Maintain and check the tools
  6. Adhere to, create and maintain standard operating procedures for the machine processes
  7. Liaise with other departments to ensure the development of the products is a smooth process

Training to be Provided:

L2 Apprenticeship in Performing Engineering Operations

The programme requires candidates to work towards a framework of qualifications, as follows:

• Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations

• Level 2 City and Guilds Diploma in Engineering

• Level 1 Functional Skills in Math

• Level 1 Functional Skills in English

• Level 2 Functional Skills in Math

• Level 2 Functional Skills in English

• Level 2 Award in Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)

• Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)

Expected Duration:

up to 2 years

5 GCSE’s at grade C or above which must include Maths, English, and Science

Future Prospects:

Fulltime machine operator or progress to Level 3 Engineering Manufacturing qualification

The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.90 per hour effective from 1st April 2019. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
