Job Title: Temp to Perm Warehouse Operative

Salary: £9.30 an hour

Location: Burgess Hill

Duration: Temp to perm

Hours: 8.5 hour shifts, flexible between 08:00am – 10:00pm

We are excited to be working with our established client in their search for a Warehouse Operative. This is an exciting role for a candidate with previous experience working in a warehouse environment, who is happy to work on a temporary 12-week basis before progressing onto a permanent contract.

The Warehouse Operative will be responsible for supporting the Health and Safety culture and initiatives in the workplace through participating and raising awareness of unsafe practices, including hazards. The successful candidates will also be expected to ensure the utmost adherence is maintained to the site Food Safety standards and company procedures. As such, the ideal person will be a friendly individual, who is keen to work in a Warehouse environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Ensure that you follow company and departmental procedures, including quality, Health and Safety, food safety and general company rules

* Manage the quality standards in the section and liaise with the Warehouse Team leader regarding any issues, leading the corrective actions

* Ensure accurate and timely completion of paperwork and “good inwards” database in accordance with department processes

* Ensure goods are put away in a timely manner, rotated and labelled correctly

* Ensure delivery vehicles are unloaded according to company procedures

* Ensure required resources (packaging materials, ingredients, products, equipment etc) are available and ready for use by the Production and Packaging Departments

* Ensure daily forklift checks are carried out correctly at the beginning of the shift and any issues reported in a timely manner

* Ensure the warehouse and surrounding work areas maintain a high standard of hygiene and housekeeping and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

* To ensure effective handovers with the incoming and outgoing Team Leaders

* Act a as role model to your team, be fair and consistent in maintaining standards of team performance

The Person:

* Communicate effectively with all staff and other departments

* Attending meetings and training as required

* English speaking and a good grasp of mathematics

* Experience of warehouse work preferred

* Counterbalance forklift and car license required

* Good administrative ability

* Excellent IT and Microsoft skills

* Friendly and helpful disposition

* Problem solver and results orientated
