Job Purpose

Sussex Cricket Foundation is the charitable arm of Sussex Cricket. The charity is the key delivery department for community cricket across Sussex. We are expanding and are looking for an experienced part-time Office Administrator. The role will provide administrative support to the largely field-based team, who deliver cricket across Sussex, with the aim of actively change lives across the community.

Key Responsibilities

• To work within the Sussex Community Cricket Department, providing administrative support for the department’s work with clubs and leagues; women and girl’s cricket and disability cricket
• Provide administrative support to the Adult League Group in the running of the 1st Central Sussex Cricket League
• Managing and updating club and league databases, including data collection, club affiliation, insight and analysis
• Maintaining and monitoring all aspects of the ‘play cricket’ website
• Creating events and registers using CVENT
• Deal with Charity requests from customers
• Assist in the running of events, both on site at Hove and elsewhere
• Maintaining staff records
• Organising meetings and minute-taking

General

• To carry out tasks in a timely, accurate and high-quality manner
• Maintain close working relationships with all Sussex Cricket staff and uphold the Organisation’s shared values
• Attend events, presentations and meetings which may involve some out-of-hours work; evenings, weekends and bank holidays
• Any other reasonable additional and related duties as requested by the Head of Community Cricket / Business Support Manager Person Specification Office Administrator

Skills and Experience

• High standard of administration skills, including minute-taking
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Competent IT Skills with experience of:
      o Producing professional and clear written responses in Microsoft Word
      o Email application, such as Microsoft Outlook
      o Producing and analysing data in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders
• Highly organised approach to work, with an attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure using own initiative
• Experience of working with managers at a senior level
• Professional attitude and presentation
• Collaborative way of working
• Values-driven individual
• A positive approach and can-do attitude
• Ability to deal with conflicting priorities, often under pressure yet remaining tactful, diplomatic and confidential

Qualifications Required

• An administration or secretarial qualification would be useful but not essential

Sussex CCC was the first First-Class County formed in 1839

In November 2015, an historic merger took place between Sussex County Cricket Club and the Sussex Cricket Board, to form Sussex Cricket Limited (SCL). SCL is responsible for the governance and development of the whole game in the county, from recreational to professional level.

Sussex County Cricket Club is the oldest professional sports club in the world and one of the eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. Its limited overs team is called the Sussex Sharks. The club has always held first-class status. Sussex have competed in the County Championship since the official start of the competition in 1890 and have played in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England.

The Club won its first County Championship in 2003, which was the beginning of an era in which Sussex enjoyed prolonged success, named 'The Golden Decade'.

Sussex Cricket also incorporates the Sussex Cricket Foundation (SCF). Through the activities, it provides the SCF aim to make cricket accessible to all.
