JOB PURPOSE:

To ensure invoices are processed correctly to enable them to be paid on time.

DIMENSIONS:

Annual payments: £943 million

Invoices processed: 136,000

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Process invoices using the scanning system, Accounts Payable Workbench and SAP

2. Reconcile supplier statements

3. Assist with resolving queries from suppliers and internal departments

4. To work with the Exceptions Manager to ensure that all control issues are understood and action plans in place to improve processes and the control environment

5. Liaison with staff within the business to ensure adherence to policies and procedures and actively look for and implement improvements to processes.

6. Participation in projects designed to test and improve the system of internal controls

NATURE AND SCOPE:

This position is part of the UK Power Networks Finance team. The post will be based at Crawley although the role may involve visits to other locations.

* To ensure that health and safety is effectively managed within AP to ensure that no harm comes to any of our staff

* To fully understand the impact of the AP activity on Procurement

* To identify opportunities whereby AP can add to the overall effectiveness of UK Power Networks and promote our sustainability objectives.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPEREINCE:

* Qualified by experience

* SAP proficient including associated invoice scanning and invoice matching tools

* Demonstrated effective communication skills

* Demonstrated knowledge of the overall Procurement process

* Demonstrated ability to operate as an effective member of the UK Power Networks group
