Children’s Support Worker, Eastbourne

We are looking for enthusiastic Support Workers living close to the Eastbourne area of East Sussex. This is an exciting opportunity to join a Children’s Residential service founded on wonderful values where children with learning disabilities, mental health conditions and challenging behaviours receive the very best in education, care and support to achieve all their goals in life.

£17,113 per annum + 30 days holiday + support towards further qualifications

Full-time hours, 6.5 - 12 hour shifts available including mornings, evenings and weekends

Guaranteed 1 day off every weekend

Do you want to make a difference?

This organisation was setup on the vision that we can do more to protect and help the most vulnerable in our society. Their aim is to promote the inclusion of all the children they support ensuring they have equal access to opportunities to become as independent as possible and not letting any barrier prevent them from living life to the full. They offer in-house medical, occupational and nursing therapies for all the children to access.

What will be your Responsibilities?

As their Support Worker, you will be working in the residential home for children aged 7-19. This will involve helping with morning routines and assisting them to get to school. (There may be minimal personal care involved.) After school or on weekend shifts, you’d encourage them to participate in activities and hobbies and help them find what they are passionate about, so they can develop their life skills and independence.

What experience & skills are required?

* You will have experience working with children/young adults with learning disabilities;

* You will ideally hold an NVQ level 3 in Children and Young People’s Workforce. However, full training is provided so not essential;

* You must be a car driver due to the rural location of the service.

This is not only a career but is so rewarding and something where you can make a difference every day. If you have a passion to work with children and you believe every child deserves to be encouraged to be the best they can be, then we would love to hear from you.
