Associate Lecturer in Access (Biology and Academic Studies)

£17.66 - £31.00 per hour (Assessed based on skills and experience in teaching)

Variable hours per week

Crawley College seeks an inspirational Lecturer to join the existing successful Access teaching team.  The Access to HE Diploma courses in Nursing and Health Care Professions and Health and Health Sciences are popular courses with an excellent success rate at the College, currently 10.8% above the National Benchmark. Most of the students progress onto University and this is well supported within the team.

You will have experience of teaching Biology at Level 3 and above as well as having a passion to support students succeed. You may be required to undertake the role of Group Tutor, teaching some of the more academic units within the course, such as Critical Thinking and Reviewing and Planning. You should have knowledge of the UCAS system in order to support all of our learners in applying for the next step in their learning journey. In addition, as the range of College courses expands, you may be required to plan and deliver the GCSE Biology to adult learners as well as Anatomy to students on the busy Health and Social Care course.

You will enjoy developing accessible learning materials for all students and be able to respond to their learning and pastoral needs.  You will be able to demonstrate your commitment to excellence and student success.

Ideally you will have or be willing to be involved in curriculum design and/or development. Experience of using Virtual Learning Environment (Blackboard or Moodle) to improve teaching would also be beneficial.
