Senior Mechanical Design Engineer required at a manufacturing company in Eastbourne, East Sussex, who specialise in innovative compressors, vacuum solutions, generators, pumps, power tools and assembly systems. The Senior Mechanical Designer (NPI) will develop, define, 3D Model and produce engineering drawing packages in support of the manufacture of new product designs. Aesthetics and a flair to create a modern looking product is essential to this role. - £35,000 - £45,000 dependent on experience - 37.5 hour per week contract - 25 days holiday per year - Performance related bonus scheme - Subsidised canteen on site - Free parking on site                              About the role - Produce Concepts for the design of products. - Agree initial specification with Marketing and Technical stakeholders - Develop costed design concepts providing details of any tooling expenditure and estimated costs for each production item. - Gain approval from NPI team for preferred solution. - Develop concepts into Production designs - Work with NPI Team to produce costed first build designs, alpha, beta and Production designs whilst ensuring product costs and Project timescales are achieved - Present proposals to NPI Team for approval - Create a full suite of Manufacturing drawings at each stage of the project to approved UK Specification, (BS 8888). - Create Detail Drawings of all mechanical components and all wires and looms and assemblies, where outsourced - Produce drawings to enable Test Function - Maintain documentation for the product design - Ensure that engineering change documents are correctly maintained and filed appropriately The right candidate - Degree in Engineering Discipline (lower qualification with more experience will be considered.) - Minimum of 5 years experience as a 3D CAD Designer preferably in an electronics development environment. - Able to demonstrate effective communication and influencing skills - Must have experience in packaging electronics and a good knowledge electronics design and manufacturing. - Must have a comprehensive knowledge of a range of materials - Knowledge of differing manufacturing processes including: -  Sheetmetal Design and fabrication, Machined parts, Injection Moulding, Sand Casting, Investment Casting, Low Pressure die Casting.
