Project Data Manager

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Data Manager to join a world class specialist in protection systems who design, develop, prototype and produce armoured vehicles, light tactical vehicles, equipment and customised occupant survivability solutions for military, security, government, aid agencies and NGOs throughout the world. The vision of marrying protection, performance and quality is at the heart of the business.

The Project Data Manager will provide cross functional project data reporting between project teams that are supporting project deliverables. The company is entering into a very exciting phase due to growth in its ‘Be-Spoke’ vehicle & new product development-manufacturing activities. This growth is not forecast, it’s a reality with several fantastic projects already on the high level plan. Projects include civilian, defence and military contracts.

Project Data Manager Requirements:

* Business Studies and Administration qualifications such as: Diploma, HNC/HND or Degree

* Professional project and management qualifications or working knowledge of: APMP (PMQ), PRINCE 2, IOSH

* Business improvement qualifications or working knowledge of tools such as: LEAN, Six Sigma

* Someone who is capable of putting their stamp on their area of responsibility as well as the business

* Influencing a positive, productive and enjoyable culture & Self-motivated, flexible and competent

* Capable of risk identification and management and adopting right first time attitude.

* Automotive understanding and experience of dealing with challenging individuals

* Advanced level MS Excel / Access

* Advanced level SAP ERP (Key-User experience would be desirable)

* Experience of creating and maintaining data metrics and KPI’s reporting project activities

* Advanced level of MS Project as a reporting tool

* Understanding of system integration and configuration management

* Use of project management software tools such as SAP and ERP/MRP systems

* Familiar with the following project management techniques: Critical Path and Network generation

* Eligible for UK Security Clearance to minimum SC (‘Secret’) level.

Project Data Manager Responsibilities:

* To act as a conduit for collating and communicating project data metrics between project teams to support project tracking and delivery.

* Maintaining project specific data integrity

* Creating a robust reporting structure in line with the tools and methodologies for the successful delivery of product

* To ensure projects are progressed on time and within budget

* Responsible for the creation, population and maintenance of a dataset which will be used to measure project activities and sub-contractor key performance indicators.

* The role will require daily internal communication, both written and verbal.

* Creation and maintenance of project data analytics.

* Management data reporting and key performance metrics to ensure project deliverables are achieved on time, to specification and within mandated budget.

* Supporting Project progress reporting to senior management team.

* Reporting at weekly project reviews the data metrics against a master production schedule.

* Reporting at project gateways the data metrics specific to project deliverables

* Management of data integrity and authenticity: BoM cost, BoM completion %, PBS/ETRS validity, Resources (budget/actual/variance) EAC vs Budget.

* Identification of risk and early mitigation using data analytics

* Advise / assist on best practices for business improvement using data analytics.

* Based at the main production facility in West Sussex.

* Willing to travel occasionally to other sites and internationally as required.
