Job Duties

The Head of Security, Risk and Standards is responsible for the strategy, planning, day to day management, monitoring and reporting on the systems and processes that support governance, risk and security within ICT. Working with the COO and IT & Transformation (IT&T) Senior Management team to deliver the strategic and corporate objectives for the division by ensuring the team are focussed on the right things and driving change in accordance with LGRI and LGRR strategy  

Principal accountabilities: 

1. Develop, implement and monitor reporting mechanisms for Security, Risk and Standards practices to support compliance and highlight areas of exposure   

2. Review identified security risks and breaches to ensure the organisation’s assets and information are appropriately secured at all times   

3. Monitor and review compliance with risk management strategies and practices to ensure IT&T related activities are meeting minimum standards 

4. Maintain currency and applicability of subject matter knowledge and the links to legislative, legal and statutory changes relating to information security and management  

5. Define, communicate, lead and role model the required cultural and behavioural change required to normalise security, risk and standards as a priority for all staff  

6. To take the lead in all matters with regard to the management of employees, ensuring that management discretion is used in a consistent manner and that the area follows the Group’s policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement to maximise business performance. 

7. Ensure that the principles of Conduct Risk are embedded into your day to day operations to deliver good customer outcomes at all times. Ensure that all business processes and internal controls within your role are designed and performed in a way that delivers good customer outcomes (TCF) and demonstrates effective management of Conduct Risk 

Skills Required

  • Degree and/or MBA educated- desirable but not essential or suitable comparable/demonstrable role experience and capability 
  • ​​Knowledge and understanding of world class Technology organisations with a strong external perspective of developments in Technology ​ 
  • Leading complex planning & decision making processes  
  • Strategic thinking, innovation, strategy development and execution in a complex geographical / functional matrix organization.  
  • Technology governance and change management experience with advanced stakeholder and risk management skills in situations of ambiguity 
  • Developing organisational capability (people, processes, technology, knowledge)  
  • Communicating and inspiring confidence at a senior level with technical and non-technical audiences  
  • Strategic thinker with first class organizing and action planning skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully engage and influence a broad range of individuals across various internal and external businesses and support functions
