The Position

The post will involve leading on the structural design and delivery of variety of projects. The successful applicant would ideally be able to undertake structural design and analysis for bridges and heavy civil structures and coastal/maritime structures, although applicants who have specialised in one of these fields will be considered. You will be expected to successfully deliver and lead projects whilst guiding junior engineers and technicians. The post is within a rapidly growing multi-disciplinary engineering team based in Haywards Heath who currently have an exciting portfolio of work in multiple sectors ranging from maritime projects, bridge strengthening works to high profile flood defence coastal and maritime schemes.

Qualifications and experience

A first degree in civil and or structural engineering is essential. The applicant would be expected to hold membership of the ICE, IStructE, or Engineers Ireland and should be chartered or close to completing their professional review. If required, the client has a structured training programme and one-to-one mentoring to assist in success at professional review.

Successful candidates will be required to demonstrate and evidence, a proven track record in the following required attributes:

Leading in the delivery and quality assurance of structural analysis and design.

Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and collaborative environment and a good understanding of BIM management.

Leading and mentoring junior engineers.

Effective, proven project management abilities.

The following would be advantageous:

Experience in the use of the following structural analysis packages – Auotdesk Robot, Autodesk Bridge Design, STRAP.

Experience with the preparation of competitive tenders
